CON’s mission is to empower nations in the region by dismantling systemic oppression, advocating for structural reforms, and mobilizing grassroots initiatives to reclaim their rights and shape their future.
We envision an Ethiopia where:
- Self-determination is a fundamental right, not a privilege granted by elites.
- Decentralized governance ensures equitable representation and participation for all nations.
- Cultural identity and diversity are celebrated and protected.
- Economic justice prevails, with resources and opportunities distributed fairly.
- A genuine democracy thrives, rooted in inclusion, transparency, and respect for human rights.
Strategies and Actions: A Commitment to Systemic Change
CON will pursue its mission through bold, high-level strategies designed to create systemic change:
- Rigorous Research and Documentation: Investigate systemic marginalization and human rights abuses, producing evidence-based reports to inform advocacy and hold perpetrators accountable.
- Grassroots Empowerment: Build the capacity of local communities to lead initiatives for justice and participatory democracy.
- Strategic Alliances: Partner with national and international organizations, such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the African Union, to amplify CON’s voice and advance shared goals.
- Strategic Media and Public Discourse: Challenge elite-driven narratives by amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, using media platforms to expose oppression and advocate for change.
- Targeted Constitutional Advocacy:
- Amend constitutional articles that undermine self-determination.
